as time goes on, i begin to realize that well adjusted people are rare in america

even those people who are considered by most to 'have their shit together' are wracked by various degrees of neurotic ideas and behaviors

successful people
maybe even successful because of their neurosis

it's strange to see

not that i'm without my own
neuroses

however, i aware of my own
and
those of everyone around me

i feel like it's a consequence of the system the world is enmeshed in
the drive for the material
at the cost of the social and spiritual

we lose our humanity
and we lose a little bit of our hold
on reality
